The spin-off series takes place years after the events of the second film

Development for the show began in December 2020, with HBO Max giving it a straight-to-series order in January 2021.

And Just Like That… premiered on HBO Max in 2021, but fans noticed the absence of Samantha Jones (played by Kim Cattrall), who chose not to return for the series.

Although the first season was originally planned as a one-off mini-series, its success led to the announcement of a second season just a month after the finale aired in 2022.

The spin-off series, however, received mixed reviews from critics, who considered it less impressive than the original Sex and the City.

Viewers were also divided, with many reacting negatively to the show, though longtime Sex and the City fans were happy to see their favorite characters return to the screen.

And Just Like That… season three is set to premiere later this year on HBO Max.

It’s been over 25 years since Sex and the City first started on HBO and became a highly popular comedy-drama. Carrie Bradshaw (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) and her friends have been through ups and downs, but their story isn’t over yet!

  • Sex and the City (Original Series), the first movie, and And Just Like That…
Stream on Max (formerly HBO Max).
  • Sex and the City 2 (2010):
Available to rent or buy on Prime Video, Apple TV, and other platforms.
  • The Carrie Diaries:
Stream on The CW or buy on Prime Video and other digital stores

Starting with The Carrie Diaries can be fun for a rewatch, but the story works best if you watch it in release order first! Let me know if you want tips for similar shows.
